We are pretty certain that NK, as we fondly refer to him, was in the lab when they were testing whether someone can drown in his own sweat. He is an inveterate hard worker who keeps our emails active by sending out correspondence in the wee hours of the night. He is the visionary Founder and Managing Partner at Kibatia & Company Advocates LLP. It therefore follows that he leads our Strategy Committee and possesses the keen ability to envision the firm’s future and rally the team to take action.
NK’s arrival at the office is marked by his howling laughter, the classic “Hi Guys!” salutation and the horde of clients who make a beeline for his office. He has a propensity to reassure clients and invoke confidence in his ability to solve their legal issues no matter the intensity. He loves reading books, connecting with people and mentoring the younger generation. He is also an avid farmer and enjoys going on safaris.
NK is a member of Law Society of Kenya, International Commission of Jurists and Commonwealth Lawyers Association and the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) and the Commonwealth Lawyers Association both affiliated International Professional bodies. He also seats on the boards of different charitable organizations such as the Hannah Wanjiku Education Trust Fund and various schools across the country. He attended the University of Nairobi and thereafter the Kenya School of Law and was admitted as an advocate of the High Court in 1990. He gained experience working as a litigation counsel at the Attorney General’s chambers and also worked with a leading Law firm from January 1992 to November 1994 and thereafter set up Kibatia and Company Advocates LLP.
He is an expert in conveyance and commercial law with over 30 years’ legal experience. He has gained vast experience in company law, taxation law, banking and insurance laws. He has also been involved in complex arbitration proceedings on behalf of the firm’s clientele. Njoroge Kibatia has vast experience relating to perfection of securities for financial institutions such as Faulu Bank Ltd, Co-operative Bank, Equity Bank Limited, CBA, and Kenya Commercial Bank among others.
He is involved in perfecting of security documents such as charges, discharges, debentures, guarantees and chattels, mortgage instruments and also deals with issues relating to registration of trademarks, patents, industrial designs and copyrights.
Ultimately, NK is an integral and indispensable member of the Kibatia & Company Advocates LLP family.
